History

Beginning in grade 3, Miss Carden's curriculum presents an overview of important periods of history. Extensive formal sentence analysis (questions answered) of the lessons unlocks and organizes the content. In addition, the students write the keyword and title for every sentence. This technique focuses on the main ideas and shows the development of each paragraph. Dictation of the lesson, recall the next day, map work, reference work, oral reports, and outlining are other phases of Miss Carden's specialized approach to history.
